Born and Brought-Up:

Gurvinder Pal Singh was born to a mother Sardarni Harjinder Kaur and father S. Harbhajan Singh in Amritsar on June 19, 1964. This was his natural aspiration to be a painter of the rare Sikh history and heritage.

The Paintings

Sardar Gurinder Pal Singh was a Senior Artist at Central Sikh Museum, at Golden Temple (Shri Harmandir Sahib), Amritsar, Punjab, India. For him, paintings are not just his work. It’s all about the expression of ideas and emotions, with the creation of certain aesthetic qualities, in a two-dimensional visual language.

Gurvinder Pal Singh has created over 300 paintings and portraits of Guru Sahibs, Bhagat Sahibs, martyrs, and Sikh personalities, many of which are displayed in the Sikh Art Collection website and the Central Sikh Museum at the Golden Temple, Amritsar.

His work is not only in gurudwara but can be seen worldwide. He has been honored many times by several great personalities for his tremendous work. His name and work are also published into well-renowned books like Central Sikh Museum Ramgarhia itihas, Gurunanak Darshan, and so on…

His work includes large numbers of portraits, paintings of sikh history and for the same he has earned the honor to display them at the Central Sikh Museum, abroad including Guru Nanak Sikh Museum Leicester U.K. and Baltimore U.S.A. You may see his few paintings of portraits at Mata Khivi Langar Khandoor Sahib. Keeping his outstanding work in view, he was honored number of times for his unique work by his patronizing institution SGPC, Khalsa College Amritsar, S. Sobha Singh Memorial Chitrakar Society Bathinda, Gurudwara Kalgidhar Ludhiana, and the Ramgarhia Bhaibandi.

He also played the role of a genuine judge in various art-competitions held by SGPC, apart from that he judged several painting competitions held in different places in Amritsar such as Bhai Gurdas ji art gallery and many more, he always motivates and inspires the aspiring artists about how they can make their career flourishing in this field with their hard work and dedication. He is a kind-hearted person who loves to help every artist in every possible manner and as much as he can.

His portrait of Bhagat Singh Ji is really a unique piece of art. The brilliant Sikh artist is still working hard day and night to create some more remarkable Sikh paintings. It may be hoped that he will touch further greater heights in the future.
